2013 Domaine Faiveley Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Saint Georges" this is supple and flamboyantHealthy medium red. High pitched perfume of raspberry, cranberry and spices complicated by deeper notes of smoky underbrush. Juicy, nervy, brisk and tight; this was silkier and fleshier in the barrel a year ago but is distinctly imploded today. The tart cranberry and pomegranate flavors are further sharpened by a note of rhubarb. Very intense wine, but its strong acidity and firm edged tannins call for considerable patience. (ST)
